Assistant Director Jenifer Wagley has worked with Avenue CDC since 2009. She has 10 years of community organizing and program management experience. She has two Master’s degrees from Baylor University and a B.A. from Louisiana College. In her current role with Avenue, Jenifer oversees the highly successful LISC Houston project, GO Neighborhoods, in the Near Northside. This project has leveraged over $16 million in additional resources for the Northside community including: attracting a new YES Prep charter school; multiple improvements to public school sports facilities and the addition of a new SPARK park at Ketelsen Elementary. She is responsible for supervising our supportive services program at our multi-family residences and for bolstering staff and volunteer relations.

Wendy Alvarado is the owner of Alvarado Tax Service, a small tax office that has been serving the greater Houston area for the last two years. Wendy is a small business owner with big goals for her community! As she continues to grow her business, her desire is to be in good company with the surrounding businesses and neighbors. She chooses to support local small businesses and their goods and services.

Angelica Vasquez is a 2nd generation State Farm Agent located at 45N and N Main.  She has been with State Farm for over 4 years. Prior to her State Farm career, she lived in Spain where she received a Bachelor’s in International Business and a Master’s Degree in Corporate Social Responsibility.  She also owned a own small business in Spain named InglesLive. She loves to travel, read, salsa dance, and spend time with family.

Rebecca Reyna

Rebecca moved back to the area and started volunteering in the Northside Village Weed-N-Seed Initiative, and took an active part in community events such as Monster Mash and area clean-ups. After volunteering in the Adrian Garcia for City Council Campaign, Rebecca was hired as Council Member Garcia’s Policy Director.   Rebecca with her experience in the community and the City of Houston became the first Full-Time Executive Director for the Greater Northside Management District in April 2007.

Dr. Margaret Ford Fisher is President of the Houston Community College - Northeast where she has served as President for nineteen years. She has worked in higher education for over 40 years and is energized by strategic alliances that seek to make a positive impact in the human capital development and economic growth within communities.

Jose Jimenez

State Farm Agent Jose Luis Jimenez is a veteran of the US Air Force and served during Operation Southern Watch.  After the Air Force, Jose returned to the University of Houston and graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Operations Management.  Jose founded a Minority/Disadvantaged/Small Business enterprise focused on commercial and residential property renovation and project management in Texas and Florida.  Jose then served as the Director of Small Business Compliance for the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County and as the Director of Purchasing and Support Services for the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) under Sheriff Adrian Garcia.  At the HCSO, he managed a portfolio of $100 million in yearly contract expenditures and established the first small business participation effort with the support of Sheriff Adrian Garcia. Today, Jose proudly serves as a State Farm Agent and his office is located in the Northside/Northline area where he was raised and his family owned a small business.  Jose is happily married to Janie Jimenez and has two children, Jasmin and Jose.

Michael is the leader of his family owned and operated Real Estate, Insurance, and Mortgage Loan and Financial services businesses. Together with his parents Richard, Connie who founded the company and his siblings Russell, Dominic and Terri they have served the Greater Northside community since 1983 with their businesses.  He holds a Texas Real Estate Brokers License, Insurance Brokers License, Texas Mortgage Brokers License and a series 7 & 63 Securities Broker License during is time of employment with the Dean Witter Morgan Stanley financial services company. He studied Business Administration and Real Estate Management at Sam Houston State University and the University of Houston.  Michael is married to his beautiful wife Edna and has a beautiful daughter Marissa, and two handsome sons Nicholas and Matthew.

A resident of Houston Texas, transplanted from Los Angeles, California into the near Northside in 1971. Founder of bohemeo's music art coffee in the historic East End in 2006. Artistic director of the East End Street Festival and partner with East End Chamber of Commerce since 2008. Attended University of Houston and Senior Fellow with American Leadership Forum, Community Development Class 2, 2015. Happily married to his wife of 25 years Sidone Scott Olivarez.
