Dr. Asheli S. Atkins
Dr. Asheli S. Atkins, PhD, MBA is an Assistant Professor of Sociology and a business owner with over 13 years of outstanding professional research, teaching, and entrepreneurial experience. Passionate about the successful development and sustainability of small businesses — both nonprofit and for profit — Dr. Atkins has worked with organizations including the Feed The Soul Foundation, the Greater Houston Black Chamber, Broham Fine Soul Food & Groceries and many more. As a Sociologist, her research focuses on the development of a multidisciplinary framework that examines the strategy construction process for marginalized entrepreneurs as they navigate racist and discriminatory barriers in the market. Dr. Atkins received her PhD from Texas A&M University, her MBA from Texas Woman’s University and a BA from Prairie View A&M University.
