Contacts N' Coffee!

Contacts N' Coffee!

Our "Contacts N' Coffee" events are an excellent opportunity to meet Business Professionals as well as Civic and Community Leaders as a means of sharing with them what it is that you do and, importantly, what entities make great referrals for you. A more structured format, these events provide EVERYONE with an opportunity to shine!

This event is open to all Chamber Members, their guests and anyone else who may be interested in the Greater Northside Chamber of Commerce.

*Active Silver-Level Chamber Members on up will receive one complimentary breakfast per company.

Rebecca is not only an Active Member of The Greater Northside Chamber of Commerce, she is also a sitting Board Member. We can honestly state that we know of very few (if any) persons who possess a greater knowledge about the our local and state governments and what our business community needs to be informed of than Rebecca.

Rebecca and her staff at the Greater Northside Management District can be of tremendous assistance to both those who seek to own a business and those who currently own a business. Bring your pen and paper (or whatever you preferred method is for taking notes) and be prepared to learn just how valuable of a resource that the Management District can be.

If you would like to learn more about anything from processes to understanding current and future initiatives to safety and transportation and much, much more, this should not be missed!

Rebecca Reyna is the Executive Director of the Greater Northside Management District. She manages projects and programs, including various economic development and community development initiatives. She is heavily involved in the community through her many leadership and volunteer roles.

Rebecca attended Houston Independent School District schools, went on to graduate from Texas A&M – Corpus Christi with a criminology degree. After college, Rebecca returned to Houston and worked in social services. Having a strong desire to help youth, she worked with at-risk children at Covenant House, Interfaith Ministries, Children’s Defense Fund, and Harris County Children’s Protective Services. During this time she became a Juvenile Probation Officer with Harris County she was responsible for implementing a special, intensive supervision program for females. She has been on the founding boards of two nonprofits, one a community development corporation and The Institute for Civility in Government, that seeks to educate and empower students to have a civil voice in Government.

In 2002, Rebecca returned to live in Houston’s Northside and began volunteering in the Northside Village Weed-N-Seed Initiative. Through this process, she took an active part in community events, such as Monster Mash and area clean-ups. Rebecca was then hired as Council Member Adrian Garcia’s Policy Director, during which time she began attending University of Houston School for Public Administration.

Rebecca’s nonprofit, Harris County and City of Houston experience enabled her to become the first full time executive director for the Greater Northside Management District in April 2007. During her tenure, the District has seen a reduction in crime, graffiti and litter while becoming a more livable neighborhood. Currently Rebecca is a Junior Fellow in the American Leadership Forum.

Bocca Donuts & Kolaches serves up quite a bit more than just the best Donuts in town. (YES, WE STILL STAND BY THAT!) Robert and Anna Torres offer a good variety of breakfast and lunch items as well. As always, Robert and Anna have been kind enough to create a custom breakfast selection for this event. (This includes a donut of your choice!) Not only do we believe that you will like what they have created for this event but we are confident that you will want to take a dozen (or two) of their donuts with you to share with your colleagues. (That is if you don't eat them all in the car before you make it back to them:-)

To RSVP for this event, please respond to this invitation. For any further information, please contact James Montalbano at 713.370.9662 or james@northsidechamber.org.
