District H Candidates Tackled Detailed Questions at Candidate Forum
A very insightful Candidate Forum with three of our candidates for our coveted City Council District H seat in participation was held this past Thursday BakerRipley Leonel Castillo Community Center. All three candidates that participated: Council Member Karla Cisneros, Isabel Longoria and Cynthia Reyes-Revilla, tackled some very detailed questions with class and with thoughtful consideration. (The fourth candidate, Gaby Salcedo, was invited but was unable to attend due to an unexpected family emergency. It is our hope that everything turns out well for her.)
Many thanks to our faithful partners that worked with us in presenting this Forum including:
Maria Aguirre-Borrero, Laila Khalili, Roman Tamarin and the staff Avenue,
Bolivar Fraga, Julian Ochoa, Maggy Goergen and the staff from BakerRipley Leonel Castillo Community Center,
Sylvia Cavazos, Diana Lerma Pfeifer and the residents from GO Neighborhoods Northside Houston.
Much appreciation to Osvaldo Corral of Noticias 45 Univision for taking time out of his busy schedule to be the Moderator. He was awesome!
A very special thanks to Cynthia Rivera from Alamo Tamale & Taco for donating (and being on hand to serve) the absolutely delicious assortment of tamales and sweet breads! (I'm still thinking about those and plan to indulge in some more this week!)
Lastly, but most importantly, we want to thank all of you in attendance for this Forum! Your presence speaks volumes. It shows that you care deeply enough the community that you live in to want to make an informed decision as to which candidate that you will vote for to represent us. Here's to all of you!
