A Very Warm Northside Welcome was Provided to The Houston Roughnecks!
What a fabulous event with Head Coach June Jones and Team President Brian Michael Cooper of the Houston Roughnecks this past Thursday.
The connection between team and community was apparent immediately as Coach Jones delivered an absolutely inspiring keynote speech that, no matter what our chosen path in life may be, provided all of us in attendance with a strong sense of hope and optimism.
Both Mr. Cooper and Coach Jones stayed and answered a plethora of questions from the attendees and many lined up afterwards to sign on for Season Tickets. Northside is definitely a big part of Roughneck Nation! We can't wait for the season to begin on February 8!
Most heartfelt thanks to June Jones, Brian Michael Cooper and Joseph Mayancsik, Ticket Sales and Experience Manager for taking the time out of what is certainly a tremendously busy time of year to come out to Northside and spend such an extended amount of time with all of us.
Stay tuned for more exciting events between our Chamber and the Roughnecks!
A very important endorsement for the Roughnecks came from none other than the Honorary Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee! We were honored that Congresswoman Lee stopped by to offer her support for the Roughnecks and to update us a bit as to the goings on in our community.
Major Shout Outs to:
Maggy Goergen and staff at BakerRipley (BakerRipley Leonel Castillo Community Center) for being the tremendous and gracious hosts to us that they have always been.
Cynthia Rivera and staff from The Original Alamo Tamales for taking their food offerings to simply another level.
Our Table Sponsor and Program Participant, J.P. Cortez from MD Anderson Family YMCA. Let's support our "Y"!
Our Table Sponsor, Rebecca Reyna and staff from Greater Northside Management District.
Our Board Members, Yvette and Armando Diaz from The Law Office of Armando Diaz, Our Chamber Representative Gina Overton and Monica Montalbano from Monica Montalbano, Hairdresser/Color Expert for all of their assistance in setting up, check in, food and beverage service and take down. All of your service was valued more than any of you can possibly know.
And, very importantly, all of those in attendance for showing our Roughnecks a warm Northside welcome!
