BE PREPARED-BE SAFE ON THE FREEWAYS

No one ever expects to have mechanical problems or a flat tire on their vehicle nor do they expect to have an accident on the freeway but thousands of Houstonians do every day. CALL- 713-881-3333

BE PREPARED - Do check and maintain your vehicle in good running condition - check the oil and water level; take your vehicle for repair if a warning light comes on and do not run your vehicle on tires that are worn with no tread.

**   Do have a bottle of water in your vehicle for every person who is riding. Carry an extra gallon of water in case of an emergency.

**   Do make a sign that says "NEED HELP" and keep it inside your vehicle to post on the window. (When someone is looking for a vehicle that is not running and it is in traffic, it is difficult to spot the vehicle in time to move over in traffic to assist the vehicle.) CALL 713-881-3333

**   Do not block a moving lane of traffic!!! You are in danger if you are in a moving lane of traffic.

**    Do drive on a flat tire to a safe location off of the freeway if possible. By the time you stop, your tire is already torn up and is not worth your life to try to save. Pull into the grassy area if you have to pull off.

***GIVE RESPECT TO YOUR FELLOW ROAD USERS. YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL BE YOU THAT IS IN DANGER ON THE ROADWAY.   TOW TRUCK OPERATORS ARE TRYING TO HELP GET FOLKS TO SAFETY, PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE AND MOVE OVER. IT'S THE LAW
